Jean Perréal, a French artist, is thought to have been born around 1455 or 1460 and to have died around 1528. As well as organising solemn ceremonies, designing several monuments and being a poet, Jean Perréal is renowned for having been the official painter to kings Charles VIII, Louis XII and François Iᵉʳ. He was a complete artist who produced illuminations and decorations in addition to these many talents mentioned above.
