Born in Bayonne, Franck Cavadore initially drew and painted nudes, bodies and portraits, but his mind wandered to other horizons and he demanded more independence and spontaneity in his creations.
Gradually, the gesture became more amplified and the hand freed, covering the canvas with new signs, hatching, lines and strokes that gradually took over the space of the work.
Franck Cavadore then paints monochrome or two-tone labyrinths, using optical processes that offer several readings between the background and the motif. By reintroducing colour, he has opened up new perspectives.
Today, oil and acrylic coexist on canvas or kraft paper, always with great creative freedom of movement.
His art is nourished by everyday life, nature and a desire to paint that is as strong as ever.
