Sculptor to Madrid - Spain
Spain
A key Spanish sculptor and engraver of the 20th century, Eduardo CHILLIDA devoted his work to expressing his perception of emptiness, shaping space by working matter into lines and curves of great freedom. His work is recognised and exhibited all over the world: New York's Guggenheim, the Venice Art Biennale, London's Tate Modern, etc.
Eduardo CHILLIDA was featured at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts in 1962, in an exhibition devoted to three Spanish masters: PICASSO, MIRÓ and CHILLIDA.
And, of course, in his native town of Saint-Sebastien in the Basque Country, where his famous sculptures, the Wind Combs, stand facing the ocean.
