Les tulipes du Shang-Ri La

The Shangri-La Tulips, created by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, are a monumental installation located in Lille since 2004. The 8-metre-high sculptures are made of resin and steel.

They represent tulips in the colorful, hypnotic patterns typical of Kusama's style. The work fuses nature and contemporary art, transforming an urban space into a dreamlike scene.
Kusama's message of infinity and repetition is expressed here through a vibrant, pop vision of eternal bloom.
