The House of Photography of Marrakech, private structure created by Hamid Mergani and Patrick Manac’h, has been open since 2009. Our first goal : show the extraordinary diversity of Morocco, as seen by those, anonymous or famous, who visit it from the beginnings of photography until the modern period : 1879-1960. An invitation to get to know Morocco better.

The Maison de la Photographie is above all an Archive on Morocco, it is also a History of ideas in Morocco. Building this archive remains the Maison's first adventure.

 The collection includes photographs, glass plates, postcards, newspapers, cards, documentaries.  Donations enriched the fund, donation Daniel Chicault, donation Ana Muller, donation Jean Pierre Evrad. We organize thematic exhibitions, both in the Maison de la Photographie located in the medina of Marrakech, but also by organizing traveling exhibitions in schools, and partnerships with various cultural institutions.
