The Fondazione Lucio Fontana is an art institution based in Milan, Italy, dedicated to the preservation, promotion and dissemination of the work of the Italian-Argentinian artist Lucio Fontana.
The foundation was set up in 1982, a few years after the artist's death in 1968, with the aim of preserving and promoting Lucio Fontana's artistic legacy.
The Fondazione Lucio Fontana is responsible for the management and conservation of a vast collection of works of art by Lucio Fontana, including his paintings, sculptures, ceramics and his famous "Cuts", which left their mark on the Futurist movement.
As well as preserving the artist's works, the foundation is also involved in educational and cultural activities, organising exhibitions, conferences and events related to modern and contemporary art. It plays a key role in spreading understanding and appreciation of Lucio Fontana's art among the general public, researchers and contemporary artists.
The Fondazione Lucio Fontana contributes to broadening the scope and impact of Fontana's art through collaborations with national and international cultural institutions, enabling the artist's works to be exhibited and seen by a wider audience worldwide.
Thanks to its ongoing efforts to promote the work of Lucio Fontana, the Foundation plays an essential role in preserving his artistic legacy and in recognising his major role in the history of twentieth-century art.
