"First Impressions" is a sculpture representing a group of three British sailors who took part in the first fleet to arrive in Australia in 1788. The sculpture is located near Circular Quay in Sydney's historic The Rocks district. It commemorates the history of the first European settlers in Australia and their arrival in the region.
Bud Dumas' First Impressions sculpture was commissioned by the Sydney Cove Redevelopment Authority in 1979. It has become an iconic feature of The Rocks and continues to serve as a reminder of the history and importance of this period in Australian history.
