Porto - Portugal
Portugal
The Museum of Porto - Casa do Infante is housed in an old medieval customs building, and contains archives on the city's history.
It is a museum that reflects the city in its historical awareness and its multiple identities, containing it within itself as an heir, and stemming from it. The area from the Ribeira to the mouth of the Douro, between valleys and rivers; an ancient, noble and unconquerable history, linked to that of Portugal and which gives it its name; a city of wine that takes and exports its signature; ancient roads and romantic gardens between estates, with a modern and cosmopolitan sensibility; industries born of the bourgeois and liberal spirit; artists, their avant-gardes and their creations; people and their ways of being, feeling and speaking; listed heritage sites, emblematic architecture and intangible cultures.
