This mural depicts various scenes from The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's best-known work in French. Published in 1943 in New York at the same time as its English translation, it is a poetic and philosophical work in the guise of a children's story. It tells the poetic tale of an encounter between a stranded aviator and a child who suddenly appears to him in the Sahara desert. Each encounter with the Little Prince is the occasion for an allegory that highlights the absurd behaviour of grown-ups who have forgotten that they were once children.
