Known as the "Vence Gate" because it is oriented in the direction of Vence.
It constitutes one of the few remnants of the medieval fortifications of Saint-Paul. This gate tower was equipped with several means of defense: machicolations in its upper part, a crossbow loophole on the north side, and a portcullis, the former slide of which is still visible.
The upper part in brick is a construction probably contemporary with Vauban.
