Nantes - France
France
This boat nestled in the center of Nantes on the banks of the Erdre welcomes you for a drink on the terrace with some tapas and a superb view. A heron could well point the tip of its nose if you are careful!
It is also above all a friendly space punctuated by a unique atmosphere that can not be found anywhere else! Encounters are the charm of this place illuminated by its guinguette garlands.
The Bateau-Lavoir has been installed on the quays opposite the prefecture, to recall the presence of the wash-houses that once adorned the banks of the Erdre, and to revive this mythical universe. 200 years ago there were 46 laundry boats on the Erdre. The last floating washhouse in the Erdre closed in 1968.
It is in this spirit that the bar adopted the same name, giving way to a unique and festive atmosphere.
The Bateau-Lavoir was designed by François Delarozière on an original idea by Pierre Oréfice, the two creators of the company La Machine. Creation of the Green Spaces Department of the City of Nantes, the Bateau-Lavoir is run and managed by the Food & Services division of the Brémond group.
